Description
For your consideration is a superb Chinese yixing teapot with mouse finial and calligraphy adorning the shoulder of the teapot circumferentially. The base of the teapot is marked with a hand-incised two-character maker's mark. The teapot measures 4" from handle to spout and is 2 3/8" in height.
Provenance: From the private collection of a retired Air Force Colonel in New Braunfels, Texas.

Condition
Body of teapot in good condition with no breaks, cracks or repairs. There are a couple of very very small knicks to the underside of the spout rim - so small they had to be viewed under magnification to be seen. Additionally, the interior rim of the lid is damaged but still holds its proper place and seals the teapot adequately. There is also a chip at the end of the mouse's nose and one ear is missing.
