Description
**Originally Listed At $300**

Daniel Sabater y Salabert (Spanish, 1888-1951). "La Flauta Majic" lithograph, ca. 1940s. Numbered 235 of 350 in pencil on lower left. Signed "D. Sabater" and titled "La Flauta Majic" in the plate on lower right. A captivating composition by Daniel Sabater y Salabert, a Spanish artist who was born in Valencia in 1888 and became a Surrealist artist following his Impressionist period. As we see in this example, he usually signed his paintings "D. Sabater". "La Flauta Majic" or "The Magic Flute" - features a flautist sitting in profile on the right who is playing his flute as two ducks dance while a crowd of villagers and a group of birds serve as the audience. Providing an endearing and humorous note, the bird closest to the musician has a white cloth tied around his head, perhaps to block out the sound of the music. A lovely landscape occupied by numerous gatherings of people completes the scene. Size of image: 23.25" W x 15" H (59.1 cm x 38.1 cm) Size of sheet: 32.875" W x 22.625" H (83.5 cm x 57.5 cm)
