Dutch Infantry Hanger, c. 1770-1790, brass hilt with two branches connecting the narrow counter guard to the knuckle bow, knuckle bow connected to the grip back strap by a screw, leather-covered grip with brass wire binding; curved single-edge blade with false edge at the tip and single narrow fuller and leather washer between blade and hilt, blade lg. 26 3/4, overall lg. 31 3/4 in.

Condition: Brass toned to a dull yellow, back strap has a scattered dings and dents, hilt, grip and wire binding are tight; blade is bright with scattered thin gray mottling, blade edge has a few small nicks and some evidence of old resharpening.
