A pair of 19th century French Old Paris porcelain hand-painted converted urn vase table lamps having painted figural scenes depicting a man playing a sitar and a woman reading a book with painted floral designs on the versos. They are painted blue, pink and gold with double bulbs resting atop carved gilt wooden bases. Unmarked.

Good condition with a break in the wooden base. Minor losses to color and paint in spots. Minor surface wear to stem. Missing one finial. One lamp is in excellent condition. The other lamp has two hairline cracks in the lower section socle running in a diagonal downward line. The lines are roughly 1/2" 10mm apart and they are roughly 3" 7.5cm long. There is another area of inpainting at the very base of the socle where it joins with the wooden plinth. The area is only in the gold gilt painted trim roughly 1/4" 4mm wide.
