Rare antique Chinese hand carved ivory chess set having Ivory and tea stained colors in 32 pieces. Each piece fully relief carved throughout. Emperor and Empress pieces for each side contain mother of pearl inlay plaque to bottom holding the Qian Long 4 character archaic reign mark. Largest piece measures 8 1/4" height (20.95cm). Total weight of 20.78 kilograms including wooden box. Approx. Ivory weight of 7.42 kilograms.
