Ridlon, Jim (American, b.1934), Shakespeare Edition, portfolio of 9 original etchings on paper housed in envelope printed by the Everson Museum, Syracuse University, 1975, each print is signed, titled and numbered 27/50 in pencil at the bottom and the folder is marked Shakespeare Edition, full sheets measure 10 x 7.5 inches (although one is slightly smaller), the images themselves range from 4 x 3.25 inches to 1 x 1 inch, but most are approximately 3 x 2 inches. The plates show different characters from Shakespeare's plays -- Falstaff, Ariel, King Lear, Katherina, etc -- and one portrait of the Bard himself. James "Jim" Arthur Ridlon was an NFL safety for the Cowboys and 49ers before returning to a career as an artist and art teacher. He attended and later taught at Syracuse. A rare portfolio, with no records on OCLC or in auction databases.
Condition
Etchings are in Fine condition; the folder shows some wear and staining. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
