Description
MORRISON, Toni (1931-2019). Typed letter signed to Sol Stein regarding publication of Native Sons. Princeton: April 3, 2003. One page, 8vo (sheet 216 x 140 mm) on Princeton University letterhead. Original mailing folds. Morrison writes in full, “I like your title, ‘Native Son,’ for its resonance and its accuracy. Your publisher probably thinks it’s been used far too often. He is right, but I can’t think of a better one. The subtitle I don’t like at all. Maybe just your names would do for a title: Sol & Jimmy: A friendship. Good luck.” Provenance: From the estate of Sol Stein.
