Description
A pair of 17th / 18th century Persian oil jars, both globular earthenware bodies decorated with hand painted geometric motifs against a turquoise ground. Measuring 9" high. Provenance: purchased by Frederick Cleveland Morgan from Kevorkian, New York, 1921. F.C. Morgan (Morgan Stores, Montreal) was the first curator of the Montreal Art Association's Museum collection, which would later become the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
