An undated calligraphic oil lamp comprising a central bulb with a band of calligraphic text to the shoulder and arabesque motifs between five wick spouts, each decorated with a stylised bird to each lateral face; above, the lid hinged, pierced and provided with a balustered knop; the base trumpet-shaped with openwork designs including calligraphic text and animals among vegetation scrolls; to the rear, the handle formed as a broad ring with guilloche ornament, a balusterd knop below and trefoil behind; above the handle, a model bird with arabesque scrolls and filling spout to the back, the wings and tail formed as spouts for wicks. Brass, 2.7 kg, 41 cm (16").
