***1961 marked another significant moment in the Hamilton/ Fleming relationship, particularly for Fleming: 'I was taking a Sunday Times conference one Tuesday when Ian suddenly keeled over. I thought he was dying because he was a deathly white; I tried to get him out of the stuffy room, but he resisted. I said, 'Come on, Ian, you'll bloody well do as I tell you! We'll go out and I'll get you a doctor.' I summoned a car to take him home and arranged for his doctor to be waiting there - that was all he'd agree to. He had suffered a massive heart attack and was put in the London Clinic within minutes of the doctor seeing him.' (Hamilton)..
