A glazed composition scarab with detailing to the carapace, base with incuse stylised insects; set into a later silver swivel ring with round-section hoop, coiled wire sleeves and looped terminals. 9.59 grams, 34.20mm overall, 23.20mm internal diameter (approximate size British X 1/2, USA 11 3/4, Europe 26.92, Japan 25) (1 1/4"). Property of a London gentleman; before that in the private collection of a Kensington collector; acquired Austria in 1993; previously in the Trimbacher collection; formerly acquired in Germany in 1980.

Fine condition. A large wearable size.
