Description
18th-19th century AD. A bronze statue modelled as a standing figure with hands held palm outwards, intricate detailing to the garments and jewellery, the body enveloped by a thigh-length cape with studded ornament, semi-naturalistic detailing to the face, leaves and stems to the side of the head, headdress; mounted on a custom-made display stand. 736 grams total, 25.7cm including stand (10"). Property of a French private collector; acquired from Aguttes, Neuilly, France, 19 June 2012, lot 143; ex Nicole Depeyre collection, representative of The Dior House in the Pacific, in the 1950s.
