Description
Cast-iron, spherical lamp used to indicate the type of train an engine was pulling. Two ~5-inch, clear Fresnel lenses with green filters inside that can be positioned behind the lenses. Two of these lamps would be mounted at the front of the engine - one on each side. The frame has two mounting brackets allowing the same lamp design to be mounted on either the left or right side of the engine and still face forward. The lamp is 9 inches tall and 9 inches across. There is no illumination source inside, but the lamp opens easily with a thumbscrew near the base and a hinge on the opposite side. the lamp has seen active duty but it is in very good condition.Date: Country (if not USA): State: City: Provenance:
