Additional Information: This poster, created for an Otis Rush show with The Mothers and Morning Glory, is one of several that was printed with a technique called “split fountain." This produces a poster which is one color at the top, another color at the bottom, and a mixed or transition color in the middle. The central image is a man’s face viewed from the front with a woman’s face attached at the left side. Whether it was deliberate or not on Wes Wilson’s part, the effect is very similar to a stained glass window—a medium that Wilson also experimented with. If music is “organized noise," Frank Zappa was always looking to see what the limits of organized noise might be. For this concert, he rented a thunder machine from a movie studio and used it as a rhythm instrument. This poster is from the scarce first print run.
