Item Details
Description
An R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co. Carthage Pattern Silver Hand Mirror, Wallingford, Connecticut, circa 1915 Marks: RW, (stag), &S, 9800-5, HAND HAMMERED 12 x 6 inches (30.5 x 15.2 cm) 382 grams (gross) I lived in Germany in the early 1980s while studying design history. I like this mirror because it reflects the modernist aesthetic coming out of Central Europe before WWI. Bold and beautiful, but I have no clue why the pattern was named "Carthage". CV
