Morrie Camhi (American, 1928-1999), lot of photographs and photographic materials from the artist's estate, primarily related to his series "Roadside Attractions", to include: appx. 234 loose gelatin silver prints, some in mylar or wax sleeves, some with artist's notes and negative numbers verso; 12 matted gelatin silver exhibition prints; and one folder containing artist's notes. May contain duplicate prints.. . Morrie Camhi was born in New York City in 1928. He attended High School in Los Angeles and studied English literature at UCLA. After college, Camhi-a self-taught photographer-established a commercial photography business in Petaluma, where he would live for the remainder of his life. In 1972 he began teaching photography at San Francisco City College. He also taught at Stanford University, U.C. Berkeley, University of Oregon, Columbia College at Chicago, Sonoma State University, and Friends of Photography.
