Catalog Note:
Among the 2,292 pieces that were on loan to the Cincinnati Art Museum from Rookwood, many were exceptional, while many were also kept as examples of what went wrong in the manufacturing process. There is no explanation as to why this Shirayamadani work was on loan, but it is an attractive vase.

Condition

Fine overall crazing. Faint haziness to glaze on lower third of the vase, which may account for the seconding mark. No chips, cracks or repairs.
