This AMAZING bronze is valued at over $5,000.00! Ed Dwight is a painter and sculptor. During his art career, he has completed over 80 public art commissions, most of them honoring individuals and contributions of African Americans to American history. He lives in Denver, Colorado. Among his bronze sculptures are the "Black Frontier Spirit Series", commissioned by the National Park Service in St. Louis. In preparation, he did much study of African culture. Another sculpture series was "Jazz: An American Art Form", which is 70 pieces devoted to the history of jazz music from its African roots. He also has numerous portrait sculptures of noted black Americans including Hank Arron, baseball player, at the Atlanta Braves Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia; Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the City Park of Denver; and Mr. Frederic Douglas in The Douglas Museum in Anacostia, Maryland.
