Untitled from Portraits, 1981-1983.

Six vintage gelatin silver prints. Verso signed and dated five times in pencil and numbered three times, from an edition of 6 copies + 4 artist proofs. Picture / sheet size 49x 37.5 cm.

Provenance: Private collection, Berlin, formerly from the photographer's estate.

Koenig was a lecturer from 1978 and from 1982 to 1984 head of the Werkstatt fuer Photographie. He was largely responsible for contacts with American photographers.

The series was exhibited 1984 at Galerie Fahnemann, Berlin and Castelli Graphics, New York, and in 2016 in the group exhibition Kreuzberg - Amerika, Werkstatt fuer Photographie 1976-1986 at C / O Berlin.
