Lot of six horse or equestrian theme biscuit tins. Includes a Huntley & Palmer "Huntsman", c. 1902, made as a large rectangular flat tin to look like a framed picture when viewed from the front. Depicts a man leading the hunt with his dogs and two locals looking over the gate, watching the hunt go by, behind the hunter the clergyman on the horse, illustration done by the artist Cecil Aldin. The second is a Canadian Christie's Christy Brown Biscuits "Fox Hunting", c. 1900. There are some scratches, but still presentable. The third is unbranded with a picture on the lid of Persimmon, winner of the Derby in 1896. The picture depicts Persimmon with the jockey in the back in royal colors, around the sides with pictures of it racing. The fourth is a rectangular green embossed tin with hinge lid, a Huntley & Palmer "Glovebox", c. 1919. The fifth is a Huntley & Palmer "Hunting", c. 1889, an earlier tin with hunting scenes and shooting scenes on two ends, sides have some scratches and the lid has some paint loss. The sixth and last tin is a Huntley & Palmer "Inkstand", c. 1928, a cylindrical tube on legs, made to look like an inkstand and with hunting scenes on the lid. Inside there would have been a ceramic inkwell, which is not present, and on the outside there is a little bit of metal missing, which would form a clasp it shuts with, however it shuts anyway. Condition: (Fair - Very Good). Dimensions: Largest: 8 - 1/2" x 13 - 1/2" x 2 - 1/4".
