A 1920's Herschede Model 240 Grandfather clock. 8-day weight driven time and strike movement with Westminster, Whittington or Canterbury chimes, quarter hour strike on nine tubular chimes, Brass dial with painted Moon Phase and Silvered chapter ring with Arabic numerals. Mahogany case with arched top and single long door flanked by turned columns on a base with flattened ball feet. Measures 24 1/2" wide x 16 1/2" deep x 81 1/4" high. Original finish with some deterioration and minor wear. ESTIMATE $800-1,200 Provenance: From the family of General Charles W. Harrah, the original owner of the Manoogian Mansion in Detroit who lost the home during the Depression, part of the homes original furnishings ca. 1928.
