1. Document Signed, ('T. Ewing'), as Secretary of the Interior, June 25th, 1850, being a patent award for 'Model for Vessels' with corresponding drawing entitled 'Model for Steam-Boat,' and with 2 pp description, both by Andrews.

2. Document Signed, ('Will. A. Graham') as Acting Secretary of the Interior, April 13, 1852, being a patent award for 'Improvements in Drop Punches' with attached drawing of the invention and 2 pp description by Andrews.

3. Document Signed, ('J.P. Usher'), as Secretary of the Interior, March 1, 1864, being a patent award for 'Improvements in Truss Pads,' with attached drawing and 2 pp description by Andrews.

4. Document Signed, ('John Forsyth'), as Secretary of State, February 12, 1841, being a patent award for 'Improvement in the manner of Constructing Door and other Locks, denominated the combined snail wheel Lock,' with a drawing and 4 pp description by Andrews.

The lot also includes a bill addressed to Solomon Andrews for equipment purchased as well as 20th century research on Solomon Andrews from Alfred M. Whitman, a descendant.

An extensive group of patents from this inveterate inventor who was most known as the inventor of the dirigible Aereon which he first flew over his hometown of Perth Amboy, New Jersey on June 1, 1863. As evidenced from this archive, Andrews' inventions covered quite a range, reaching nearly all areas of life.
