Description

Hammond Postal Telegraph Bichronous Electric Time Clock. This is a metal & glass wall clock circa the 1930s. It has a circular face with twelve Art Deco style numbers and three hands, one of which has a semicirular, almost moon-shaped end. On the clock dial, it is marked "Postal Telegraph, Bichronous Electric Time." This means it is a standard synchronous electric clock, with an added bichronous mechanism to keep the clock running during a power failure. However, the bichronous mechanism is less accurate at telling time. The back of the clock is marked "Hammond Bichronous, The Hammond Clock Co., Chicago, Illinois." Be sure to bid on this clock before time runs out.

Dimensions are 16.75 in h x 16.75 in w x 4.25 in d. Condition is fair. There is some discoloration to the clock dial, with cracking around the edges. The metal has a slight patina on it. The back of the clock is missing. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
