In good condition, commensurate with age. The edge of the plaque with old minor chips and darkened blemishes and also with some scratches and scuffs. The surface of the central plaque which is welled has some minor evidence of weathering. There are a few minor chips to the tip of the nose and some small chips to the edge of the tazza. The surface of the marble now discoloured and darkened in places and with streaking and deposits of dirt particularly to the left eye and forehead, cheek and beard; the surface also with some minor scratches and cracks and small blemishes. The rusticated sides similarly with some scratches and blemishes. There is also a rust spot on the left hand side. There are a few yellowed streaks of discolouration and with dust and dirt to the premises all over. The rear with some fresh scratches and marks presumably from when the piece was hung on the wall. The metal suspension ring with some traces of old paint and dirt.
