iridescent applied work on green ribbed body, 4 1/4", unsigned, excellent......Josef Meyr founded the Adolfshutte glass factory in Bohemia in 1815. When Josef’s son Jan assumed control at his father’s death, the company had expanded to four factories. In 1841, Jan died. Leadership passed to Josef Taschek and Wilhelm Kralik, Jan’s nephews. The company was renamed J. Meyr’s Neffen. Josef’s Taschek’s death in 1862 resulted in another name change, J. Meyr’s Neffe.Wilhelm Kralik’s four sons inherited the company upon his death in 1877. The company split in two. Heinrich and Johann founded Wilhelm Kralik Sohn. It continued to produce glass until World War II.Hugo and Karl continued Meyr’s Neffee, eventually merging with Moser in 1922.
