Lautrec lived briefly with Grenier and his mistress, Lili, an actress and model, and made several portrayals of the couple. Toulouse-Lautrec most probably refers in the present letter to Juliette Pascal, who was the wife of Joseph Pascal, a maternal cousin of the French painter. Toulouse-Lautrec painted Madame Juliette Pascal (1871), also At the Piano Madame Juliette Pascal in the Salon at the Chateau Malromé, post-impressionism oil works. The Chateau Malromé is located in the French department of Gironde. It became the home of Toulouse-Lautrec´s mother.
