BOHUSZ-SZYSZKO ZYGMUNT: (1893-1982) Polish General of World War II who, in 1940, was Commanding Officer of the Polish Independent Highland Brigade during the Battle of Narvik in the Norwegian campaign. A rare war date book signed and inscribed, being a hardback edition of The Fight for Narvik by Karol Zbyszewski and with illustrations by Jozef Natanson, First Edition published by Lindsay Drummond, London, December 1940. Number 39 of a limited edition of 100 signed by the artist Natanson to the limitations page. Signed ('Z. Bohusz, Major General') by Bohusz-Szyszko in fountain pen ink to the half-title page beneath a calligraphic presentation inscription in another hand, 'To Crawford Christie, this book, which is a description of one fragment of this great struggle, in which I commanded a Polish Brigade, fighting together with H.M.F., March 1941'. Bound in the publishers burgundy cloth with white titles to the cover. No dustjacket. Some light age wear and minor foxing throughout. G
