Description
Four Chinese blue and white seal boxes dating from the 19th or early 20th century. The first box has a roundel with a qilin and a pine tree surrounded by Buddhist objects on its lid, and its base has a ruyi band and a 4-character mark. The second box has a resting figure in a landscape scene surrounded by a blue band on its lid, and its base has a blue ground with a 6-character mark. The third box has a pair of cranes under a pine tree on its lid, and its base has a landscape scene with a 6-character mark. The fourth box has a dragon chasing a flaming pearl on the lid, and the base has a wave band with a 4-character mark.
Dimensions are: the fourth and largest box measures 1 1/4 inches tall X 3 1/2inches wide, 3.2 cm X 8.9 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The first box is in overall good condition with abrasions to the top. The second box has a very minor chip to the bottom rim. The third box has two chips to the interior rim of the base. And the fourth box is in good condition. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
