Description

DESCRIPTION: Gothic revival Victorian bed. Circa 1850. Pennsylvania or New York. Mahogany with mahogany veneers with massive head and foot boards with Gothic arch decoration. Corner supports consist of octagonal carved gothic posts with carved Gothic dripping flame finials. Side rails with trefoils as they join vertical uprights. NOTE: Very little first period Gothic Revival furniture survives in comparison to the 19th century Victorian furniture, that this piece has not been modernized makes it extremely rare. MEASUREMENTS: 87-1/2" wide x 62-1/2" deep x 57" high. Interior 71" long x 59" wide. CONDITION: Wear consistent with age. Requires custom mattress.
