Description
Li Dragon Cover, Late 19th-Early 20th C. Textile called "long bei" of silk embroidery on cotton. Hainan, China. The dragon cover, with patterns of dragons, phoenixes and other mythical beasts, was considered a symbol of wealth and power, and used in ceremonial rituals and funerals by the Li people. Size: 6'3'' x 3'10'' (191 x 117 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
