Miao Apron, China, 20th C. Apron of indigo tabby cotton ground with applied rectangular section of embroidery on multicolored satins, small sections filled with pulped or fluffed yarns or fabric. Foil wrapping outlining some patterns. Elaborate fringe of wrapped ribbons of pulped multicolor. Miao People, Eastern Guizhou Province, Zhouxi area. Size: 15'' x 21'', 38 x 53 cm (not including ties). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
