Description
The Japanese lacquer three case Inro of flattened oval form is decorated in high carved tsuishu takamakie, gold hiramakie and takamakie and other inlaid details, all on a roiro ground, signed in gold lacquer to the base 'Bunsai' with a red kao and with a red lacquer tablet inset to the base reading 'Jugyoku, at the age of 75''; mounted with a carved Ojime in the form of a monkey astride a log of umimatsu beneath which appears to be a metal (silver?) ant; and with a lacquer hako-netsuke in the form of a pine cone lacquered in nashiji to the interior. Measures 2.75 x 2.75 x 0.75 inches.
