German K-98 bayonet with scabbard, 9.75 in. blade, 15 in. overall, wooden grip secured by two screws, ricasso on blade marked unmarked with serial number '1377' engraved into the cross guard. Interestingly the opposite side of the guard is engraved 'P.R.8', likely standing for 'Pioneer Regiment 8.'Historically, the primary role of pioneer units was to assist other arms in tasks such as the construction of field fortifications, military camps, bridges, and roads. Blade in fine condition with no nicks or dents. Accompanied by scabbard and black leather frog that is marked on the reverse by maker 'Stecher Frenburg[?] 1941.' Moderate wear throughout, else a very good, presentable example.
