Description
(1736-1806) Continental Army commander during the Revolutionary War who served at the Battle of Long Island and was later a fort commander in the Ohio Territory. Partially printed manuscript D.S., 1p. 8.5 x 13 in., Pennsylvania, July 28 [n.y.], a deed of land purchased by Dominick Bradley in Northumberland County, signed by Brodhead as a surveyor. Co-signed by RICHARD PENN (1735-1811), Colonial lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, later member of British Parliament, entrusted by the Continental Congress to deliver the Olive Branch Petition to King George III before the outbreak of the war. Official seal intact. Minor tear at one crease has been repaired with tape on the verso, else fine condition.
