Pair of mixed media/collage works on paper, 19th century. Each consists of a watercolor landscape scene with a large bird perched on a tree, with two cut-out and colored engravings of women. The birds are formed from pieces of silk set beneath cut-out areas of paper, outlined in black and gilt. Each image has a gilt-painted border. They are in matching frames with red faux boulle work and yellow silk mattes. Size: 7 3/4" x 12" (sight); 11 3/8" x 15 5/8" (frame) Overall good condition. Some foxing/toning, dampstains; discoloring/staining to silk; one with small tears to paper on bird.
