Description
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, Central Peru, Inca Empire, ca. 1200 to 1532 CE. A beautiful tunic pin known as a "tupu" composed of copper that has aged to have a pretty dark green patina. The needle-form body tapers to a point and holds a thin discoid finial on top with two projects rising from it, giving it a zoomorphic appearance. Size: 2.25" W x 8.7" H (5.7 cm x 22.1 cm)
Provenance: private Raleigh, North Carolina, USA collection, by inheritance, collected 1950s to 1990s

Condition
Tip is slightly bent. Otherwise in fine condition with some modern wax on the upper end and a rich, dark green mottled patina.
