Three 19th/early 20th century cabinet card images of outlaws and thieves, to include:
- Cabinet card prison mug shot of George Collins aka Frank Lewis or "Black Frank", responsible for a 1902 bank robbery in Franklin County, Missouri and a string of related crimes that resulted in the murder of Pinkerton detective Charles Schumacher. Partner in crime Bill "The Missouri Kid" Rudolph were captured and sentenced to death. Collins was hanged May 13th, 1904, 5 1/8 x 3 7/8"
- Real photo post card of outlaw Jefferson "Soapy" Smith in his saloon. Smith was ultimately killed in a shoot out with vigilance committee in Skagway, Alaska on July 8th 1898. Post card copyright dated 1898. Undivided back and 1 cent stamp attached, unused.
- Small cabinet card depicting the arrest of horse thieves near Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1889. Sod house with Ekund family in front, standing. Sheriff and Deputy pointing guns at seated thieves, 4 x 5". Includes 2019 signed affidavit stating the image was gifted from the great granddaughter of the Ekund family.
Condition
Very good, some bends and cracks to Collins photo.
