Two Union Civil War CDVs. Item 1: CDV of the Civil War ironclad ship the USS New Ironsides by F. Gutekunst of 704 and 706 Arch St. Philadelphia, PA. 2-3/8" H x 4" W. The USS New Ironsides was on patrol as a member of the South Atlantic Blockading Squadron and was successfully attacked by the Confederate Semi-submersible, the CSS David. Item 2: Union naval soldier CDV with sword taken by Borardus Photographer, 363 Broadway, New York. Identified on the back as "Uncle Will Law as a Naval Officer Civil War". 4" H x 2-3/8" W.
Both items are in good condition with some toning.
