Handsome Louis XVI Provencal Canape
18th century, attributed to Pierre Nicolas Pillot (1748-1822), Nimes, France, the carved and molded polychromed frame with a central floral spray, acanthus-carved arm fronts, floral aprons, and raised on tapering square legs, upholstered in tobacco leather with nailhead trim.

Condition
In good "as found" condition. The frame is solid. Some shrinkage cracks along the shoulder curves of the back. Wear to the painted surface from age and use. The leather with some distress as well and a six inch tear to the left proper inside arm area.
