Markneukirchen Violin, c. 1920-30, by Arno Erwin Hendel, labeled inside "ARNO HENDEL, MARKNEUKIRCHEN, MADE IN GERMANY, COPY OF ANTONIUS STRADIUARUIUS", length of one-piece narrow curl back 14 3/16", with case and some small parts. Significant cracks in violin front and short crack in back, scratches and significant wear. Sold as is. Arno Erwin Hendel was trained and worked in Markneukirchen,Germany. During World War I, Hendel worked in a French violin making shop. When he returned to Germany, he had learned the French techniques of violin making, and his German work shows the melding of both techniques.
