A spinach-green jade 'chilong' baluster vase and cover
Qing dynasty, 19th/early 20th century
Of flattened form, the waisted neck set with a pair of beast-mask handles each suspending a loose ring, three chilong carved in openwork and high relief clambering up the smooth sides of the vessel in pursuit of flaming pearls, the domed cover with a fourth chilong weaving through the keyfret knop, the stone a hunter-green tone with darker flecks.
