For your consideration is a tranquil and peaceful landscape painting on canvas by George Jensen. On verso is a Robert Newman gallery tag and wax stamp with date 1952. Dimensions: 20h x 24w (framed). In excellent vintage condition. George Jensen (1878-1977) is an artist of Danish descent born in Port Clinton, Ohio. Jensen is best known for his Midwest and New England landscape and seascape oil paintings as well as for his artistic versatility producing numerous works from water colors to linoleum block. he worked as an illustrator for advertising and art firms in Cleveland and Toledo, with his work appearing in national and industrial magazines. He was an honorary life member of the Toledo Artists Club, and he work was exhibited in the Midwest as well as on the East Coast.
