Lot of over 60 billheads/letterheads from various enterprises in Missoula, MT dated 1884 - 1910. This collection consists of companies with names starting with A - L. (Another lot has the remaining companies). Examples include correspondence from Broadbent & Martin Plumbers, Joseph Deschamps General Blacksmith & Wheelwright, and Eddy Hammond & Co General Merchandise. Many pieces are addressed to renowned hardware company A.M. Holter of Helena. Several manuscripts round out this unique collection of western Americana. Note: Missoula is located in far west central Montana and is the seat of Missoula County. Missoula was first settled in 1858 and founded in 1860 as Hellgate Trading Post. By 1866 the settlement moved 5 miles upstream of Rattlesnake Creek and renamed Missoula Mills, later shortened to Missoula.
