Remarkable 16th Century Mughal [Persia] Illuminated Manuscript Leaf written in ink and hand-painted in gouache with gold on paper, depicting a lounging man & woman [miniature painting] | A beautiful 16th Century example of an illuminated Mulgal manuscript, with what appears to be Urdur script on front and back. The Mughal, Mogul or Moghul Empire (Persian: هند مغولان‎, romanized: Hind-e MoǧulÄn; Urdu: Ù…ØºÙ„ÛŒÛ Ø³Ù„Ø·Ù†Øªâ€Žâ€Ž, romanized: MuÄ¡uliyah Sultanat) was an early modern empire in South Asia. For some two centuries, the empire stretched from the outer fringes of the Indus basin in the west, northern Afghanistan in the northwest, and Kashmir in the north, to the highlands of present-day Assam and Bangladesh in the east, and the uplands of the Deccan plateau in south India | Condition: Very good overall condition, vibrant colors, some bindery signs and conservation tape | Appears to be signed, possibly in Urdur | Approx.
