Spanish Colonial School polychrome icon of the Immaculate Conception, oil on panel, the Virgin Mary modeled in gilt crown and in blue mantle with gilt stars; with her hands held together in prayer, she is positioned on the crescent moon with a serpent or dragon crushed beneath her and flanked by two angels carrying a palm branch and a stem of roses as reference to her triumph. Image: 13.75" H x 9.75" W; frame: 17" H x 13" W x 0.75" D. Provenance: Removed from an Upper East Side Townhouse.
