Lot of seven pieces of American paper currency from the Civil War era. American, mid 19th century. One $1 Legal Tender Note, Act of July 11th, 1862, dated August 1st 1862. Fr. 16. Has some loss around edges and discoloration. One Police Jury of the Parish of Pointe Coupee 10 Cent fractional currency note from Louisiana during the Civil War (Confederate States of America). Dated March 24th, 1862. Some discoloration and loss around edges. One Confederate States of America $50 Note. Fr. CS - 66. Good to Very Good condition, some wear at corners and some discoloration. One Postal Currency 5 Cent fractional currency note. Fr. 1230. Good to Very Good condition, some wear to surface.One Farmers & Exchange Bank of Charleston, South Carolina $5 note, ca. 1850s. Some wear and discoloration, wear on edges. One P. Jewell & Sons 25 Cent Exchange note, ca. mid 19th century. Folds, minor discoloration. Good to Very Good. Finally, one exonumismatic pseudo note, ca. early to mid 19th century. It reads "Honorable Testimony. The Bearer M. Jonas P. Lorier(?) by Diligence and attention to his studies Merits the esteem of the Wise and Good. Signed J.S. Underhill. New York, 12mo. 20. 1834." Along borders it reads "Four Merit" and "4 M 4". Includes a scene of boys fishing near ships in a harbor. The reverse is blank.
