Note: Elizabeth Peabody married Caleb William Loring (1819-1897) and was the daughter of Joseph Augustus Peabody (1796-1828) and granddaughter of Joseph Peabody (1757-1844). Gambardella was born in Italy and became known as a landscape and portrait painter. He became active in the New York City in 1838-9 and London 1842-68. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design in 1838 and 1839, the Boston Athenaeum and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art.
