A central hand painted naval scene of ships at port, surrounded by cobalt blue band with gilded roses, with an elaborately gilded rim, turquoise jewelling, and red accents. Signed in red ink to reverse, indistinct but appears to read Ablott, Calais. Possibly English, early 19th C.

There is a slight raised bump along the edge where the gilding may have slid, as well as a few very minor spots of gilding loss that is not readily apparent. Some gilding spilled over the edge of the plate. There is a very, very faint crackle mark that may be from production, barely visible. Overall in good condition.
