Set of original hand colored botanical prints on laid paper, five from "The English Moths and Butterflies, together with the Plants, Flowers and Fruits whereon they Feed and are Usually Found" by Benjamin Wilkes, (d.1749) published in London in 1749, and three from 'Phytanthoza Iconographia' by Johann Weinmann, (1696-1788) published between 1735 and 1745. One of the Weinmann prints trimmed, all others with margins. All of the Wilkes prints with early inscriptions in ink. The Wilkes prints purchased in 1989 at The Print Room, 37 Museum St., London England. All eight botanicals in identical gilt wood frames. Frames, approx. 19" x 16 1/2". Plate marks of Wilkes prints approx. 9 3/4" x 10 7/8"; Weinmann prints plate marks approx. 8 1/4" x 13".
