A large Chinese, rare wooden and lacquered standing figure of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, executed in Southern Song to early Yuan Dynasty ,stylistic elements such as the high double looped headdress, the narrow waist with extended abdomen, the elegant and alluring stance, and the draping of the garment over the legs are indicative of the age of this statue

Condition:this wood is very solide dispite the rosion of the back( which is common in a piece of this age) the statue overall is very heavy, there is still some old blue green color showing through the white areas in many placesa long with wood breakage and crack , wear and dry to most of the lacquer
